Kamal does it again

Kamal Haasan’s social responsibility is an open secret. Only a couple of weeks ago, the actor launched a book donation drive, urging everyone to do their bit to benefit the society.
On Monday, Kamal launched a children’s cancer relief fund and presented roses to children with cancer at Sri Ramachandra University at Porur on the outskirts of Chennai.

Taking part at the Rose Day celebrations organised by the department of pediatrics and pediatric hematology oncology services at Sri Ramachandra University, he said he and some of his colleagues from the film industry were willing to provide a little bit of happiness to the cancer affected people.

The ‘Ulaga Nayagan’ said had he known about the mission, he would have asked his ‘Rasigar Narpani Mandram’ to reach out these children much earlier. “I understand the pain of cancer patients and their kith and kin as I had lost quite a few of my close ones and have a few cancer survivors in my close circle”.
