Let’s admit it…..Films can be made watchable, even though they does not offer a genuine strong storyline. ‘Daddy Cool’ is one such effort from the debutante Aashiq Abu planned with trendy costumes, bright colours and amazing visuals. Had it been decorated with a thick screenplay, it would have ended up as an eminently watchable fare. For now, it has the chic packaging, peppy songs and racy first half which may cater to youth and family.

For all those from the young generation who are lamenting about the lack of well made mass masala entertainers in Mollywood movies, this is the answer. A movie about campus violence and family ties, with breathtaking visuals and foreign shot songs, a killer sound track, stunning action sequences and ofcourse, the most appealing hero from the younger lot  Prithviraj, in top form…..What more do you expect from an youthful movie? ‘Puthiya Mukham’ directed by Deepan, an erstwhile associate to action director Shaii Kailas, is one such film that is definitely made after realising the demands from the young viewers.

Welcome to a fantasyland folks, where director Johny Antony’s Ee Pattanathil Bhootham happens. It’s a world where a friendly ghost manages to escape from a fiery wizard and eventually saves a few from certain danger. Remember, that this film is aimed at the children and once bear that in mind, things will start making sense.

After their successful teamwork in Thanmathra (2005) which won five Kerala state film awards including Best Film, Best Actor and Best Director, director Blessy once again teams up with superstar Mohanlal with Bhramaram, produced by Raju Mallyath and Zulfikar under the banner of Yuvan Entertainments. Like his earlier movies (Kaazhcha, Thanmathra and Palunku), Blessy once again proves his ability as a master story teller with Bhramaram, starring Tamil-Telugu actor Bhumika as the heroine. Bhramaram is simple, has a lots of emotions, fabulous frames and some haunting moments.

You’ve to admit that debutant director Saji Surendran’s Ivar Vivahitharayal begins on a decent premise. But it’s sad to see how those involved in its making, mess up things, after a while.
