Meera Nandans second Tamil film

Upcoming Malayalam actress Meera Nandan, who is set to debut in Tamil with Valmiki, directed by debutant G. Anantha Narayanan (former assistant of Shankar) opposite Akhil of Kalloori fame, has signed her second Tamil film titled Ayyanar opposite Mridugam Aadi, produced by P.L. Thenappan of Sri Rajalakshmi Films. More details are awaited.

Set to grace screens this Friday (26th June), Valmiki is a two-heroine film, which is said to have given enough space for Meera to prove her acting skills in Tamil. Music maestro Ilayaraja recently launched the audio of Valmiki at Satyam Cinemas along with director Shankar. Touted to be a clean love story, the film has already attracted public attention for its unique title.

Director Anantha Narayanan said the film has been named after sage Valmiki, for he found the name catchy and also, there is a similarity between the sage and the protagonist of his film, Poonakann Pandi. Valmiki enriched society by giving it a very grand epic, Ramayan and in this film, protagonist Poonakann Pandi too contributes immensely to society. The story is based on that contribution. Valmiki is produced by Vikatan Talkies.
