Cochin, Sep.7 (NR): Come September.7, and Mammootty, Kerala’s favorite megastar celebrates his birthday. The handsome actor, who has been around in Malayalam cinema for more than twenty five years still continues to enthrall his audience worldwide.

Mammootty made his first screen appearance in 1971 in Anubhavangal Paalichakal, directed by K. S. Sethumadhavan. Ever since he has acted in around three hundred and twenty films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English that have endeared him to his fans all over.

Winner of the Padma Sri, six State awards and three National awards, Mammootty also has eight Filmfare awards in his kitty.

Mammootty, who is the Chairman of Malayalam Communications has promoted various humanitarian causes throughout Kerala. He is the patron of Pain and Palliative Centre, the ambassador of Jeevan Jothi, and is the goodwill ambassador of the Akshaya project.
