Love In Singapore

Rafi and Mecartin have delivered a dud with Love in Singapore. The title itself is a misnomer as there is no love in the film! It is unbearable and hackneyed and very difficult to sit through this travesty.

Makante Achan

‘Makante Achan’ is the movie that invited interests mostly due to the casting coup made in the form of immensely talented Sreenivasan and his  son Vineeth Sreenivasan, that too in the company of  ever fabulous Suhasini Maniratnam. The movie echoes the irony and aftermath of unfair prejudices held by keralite parents who always believes that securing high ranks in various entrance tests hold the key to their children’s success. A well intentioned film, the thought is put against two diametrically opposite persons, a strict upright   father and his son who loves to make big as a singer.

The pre-release publicity campaign of the film was that it was a laugh riot, but actually the film is in the action genre with a larger-than-life hero who is uneducated and has a tremendous sense of humour.

Villu

The hype and hoopla surrounding Villu, prior to its release was huge. Director Prabhudeva and actor Vijay promised lots of entertainment. Unfortunately the end product is far from impressive as it is a ‘chaotic’ cocktail of comedy, action and needless stunt sequences far from any logic.

At a time when there is a general feeling that family audience have dwindled considerably in theatres, producer AVM K Shanmugham seems to have taken a crusade to bring them back to cinema halls. His latest venture ‘A AA E EE’ is a simple tale about romance between four youths with a major thrust on father-daughter relationship. It has emotions and drama to attract family audience and at the same time enough ingredients to enthrall youngsters.
