Crazy Gopalan

Director Dipu Karunakaran’s  Crazy Gopalan is about a bank heist, a genre not seen often in Malayalam. The film is meant to be a fast paced entertainer where the viewer is not supposed to put his thinking cap instead just forget everything and take a chill pill.

In another surprising rendition, hit maker Shafi has faltered for the first time in the recent years trying to create a tasty ‘Lolipop’. The movie which comes as a shocker for his fans, have colorful songs, great young cast, good visuals and hilarious moments-But, yet again fails to hook the audience due to its packaging and presentation and end up as another average fare. The movie is indeed racy, in fact too racy and twisty in the later half to the extent that it may even leave us uninterested.

Neen Yare

At the fag end of the year there is some respite for Kannada filmdom. A young director Sindesh has left strong hopes to become a highly talented technician in the coming years. In his debut ‘Neenyare’ he has given the gripping narration, fabulous cinematography, tolerable acting and very melodious songs. If the editing was a bit more crisp, this would have been better. The dialogues and art direction are the other two areas get noticed in ‘Neenyaare’.

Cinema should be a medium to entertain and to give relief from the hustle & bustle of life is what producer Soundarya Jagadish strongly believes and gives a wholesome family entertainer with ‘Masth Maja Madi’, a remake of ‘Dhamal’. What is interesting is that the selection of right artists, colorful canvas, fine piece of cinematography and peppy music has all come together in this film which is worth every penny that you pay to buy the ticket.
