Raman Thediya Seethai

K.P. Jagannaath’s ‘Raman Thediya Seethai’ lives up to the expectations of a clean family entertainer. A neat screenplay with some slick direction makes this tale come to life. The protagonist is on a quest to find an apt bride but then he is haunted by a rather embarrassing past. The honest man that he is wants to come clean about his past to prospective brides but is not met with much enthusiasm.

Pandhayam

Pandhayam is yet another different theme from S.A. Chandrasekar, the filmmaker whose films like Sattam Oru Iruttarai and Naan Sivappu Manidhan have set new trends in the industry. Incidentally, Pandhayam is SAC’s 66th film and as the title indicates, it deals with the challenging contest between a young man and a powerful gangster.

Fun, frolic and mayhem were in abundance in Venkat Prabhu’s first directorial venture ‘Chennai 600028′. With his second film ‘Saroja’ the director dutifully follows the same pattern despite having the backdrop of a thriller featuring a kidnap, gun totting desperados and characters with malicious intent.

Dhaam Dhoom

It looks like Jeeva’s assistant Manikandan along with Harris Jayaraj has made Dhaam Dhoom as a sort of musical tribute to the late filmmaker. The film lacks a solid story, rambles all over between Russia and Tamilnadu, is disjointed, and has continuity problems with a very predictable lackluster ending.
